DC visit! First ever visit! Stayed at Cherry Hill RV Park
We spent seven days in DC! Due to the government shut down, there were a few things closed, such as the Capital, White House tour, National Archives, Library of Congress and the Pentagon. We had Tours to all of those places scheduled by a representative from home. Luckily, there was still a lot to do. The Smithsonian’s were going to close two days after we arrived, so we made sure the following day we saw as many Smithsonian’s that we could. We were at the Natural History, museum, American History Museum, Space Museum, and the National Portrait Gallery.
One of my big bucket items, was to spend a day at the Bible Museum. It did not disappoint! Jennifer went for 2 days.
We were able to go into the Supreme Court and listen to an explanation of the courts. We were not able to take pictures inside the courtroom. We did a night DC tour, thus the night pictures of some of the monuments. We took the metro everywhere and was quite easy. DC itself, seemed very clean and crime free, even seeing some of the National Guard around. We were at Arlington national Cemetery, and were able to watch the changing of the guards take place.
Jennifer, having spent 11 nights with us, finally left for home from DC. We had such a great time! On to Shenandoah and beyond!
