Sparks flying & dragging bikes on the freeway!? Again?? Lake Ontario shores, NY! 3 days & Lake Champlain, Vermont! 3 days

We had a mellow three days at Ontario Shores RV park in Pulaski, New York. Yay!

Then, we drove to Apple Island RV resort in South Hero, VERMONT on Lake Champlain! How in the world are we in Vermont?? Oh so fun! We rented a pontoon for half day and the other day, road our E-bikes on the “Island Line Causeway”

across the water, took a ferry 200 feet, to continue onwards toward Burlington, and stumbled upon Snow Farm Vineyard for tastings! We all love our biking days. We somehow manage to get lost at times, and end up with approximately 30 miles on our days of biking, and swear we’re not gonna ride as far next time, but we still do! In Traverse City, Michigan, we ended up riding 5 miles through marshes, and hiking trails just to try to get to the Tart Trail that was so avidly advertised! It was a really rough ride. Andy was our fearless leader and if he pulled over, we knew we were going to be in trouble. He helped us through streams, mud and hills and all sorts of things.

P.S. Our bikes are doing well, especially after dragging them on the FREEWAY, when the bike hitch broke!! Somebody flagged us down, and after we pulled over, he told us smoke and sparks were coming from the road. We couldn’t believe that our bikes still work. The tires were dragged and were shaved down pretty good, but still work!!!!!! Cathie and Andy pulled up behind us, and helped us dismantle the bikes and put them in the trailer, as we were all on the side of the freeway. Not fun times doing that! But we are so thankful that our bikes are good and that we were able to replace our hitch later that day, or we would be sleeping with our bikes in the trailer! Phew!!!
