Seward - And I thought I had been whale watching before!!!!

4 nights- Stoney Creek RV Park - another fishing town

We took a four hour whale watching cruise! Words cannot even describe what we saw. A killer whale was floating on its back and lifting up its tail so many times, playing! I thought I was at SeaWorld with Shamu!

Then the big humpback 12 Whale pod, were attacking all the krill & herring with  their mouths open up at the same time. They were spouting constantly too.All the seagulls would flock to where all the whales were coming up at the same time. We watched and watched. The captain remarked, “I can now retire!”

Another fun activity, was the Iditarod ride and the dogs pulling us through a trail. They get so excited to pull us, since that is their summer exercise.

We took a 2 mile hike to Exit Glacier @ Kenai National park. It was a beautiful sunny day. Today, on our way to Palmer, we stopped at the Portage glacier near the city of Whittier.

P.S. we actually were able to ship 10 pounds of frozen halibut and rockfish to Colorado! It is not cheap at $185. We figured 21 pounds of frozen fish in our freezer and our friends freezer helping us out, wasn’t worth it! I doubt we would eat it all by the time we get back. Lol.

The map shows us in Palmer, which is where we are now and leaving tomorrow for Valdez. We Were in Seward, The previous four days where the pictures are from. You can also see where Homer was on the map, where we were for four days prior to Seward.
