RV life is so cool, as you will see, but has challenges!!!! Colombia Icefields & Athabaska Falls, Jasper National Park
Hi all! We were at the Columbia Ice Fields yesterday, which was the coolest ever. (I wrote this yesterday ) You will see we were in a huge tractor type vehicle that climbed over to the glacier, and then went to the skywalk later. We slept in the parking lot without hook ups, which went well. ***** Sidenote – we drove the Columbia icefield Parkway on the way to our icefield destination. Two hours later, there was a huge rock slide on the icefield Parkway trails and emergency services were dispatched and closed the parkway south of us. One person lost their life, and several injured from a huge slide. It didn’t go on the highway, it was on a hiking area. You may have heard about it on the news. See below for con’d update. This blog split it up, lol
We had trouble leveling in the morning today and spent 45 minutes in pouring rain and then snow trying to figure it out. The parking lot was very slanted. Then when we got to Jasper national Park at the KOA campground , we had some issues and the pouring rain again, due to what we were struggling with earlier and the slanted parking lot. We then had issues with our surge protector, but had no idea that’s what it was. 4 to 5 men in our caravan group came in tearing apart our fireplace and then realized our AC also didn’t work (meanwhile, it is pouring rain)… it turns out that a few of those in our group were also struggling with electrical issues. Our surge protector had blown, but it took a while to figure it out since everything else was working.
The beauty of it all, is that everyone comes together here on this adventure caravan tour group, and they all have your back. Thus, the reason we are with them all!
Enjoy the pics!
Now that's living!
