From Hazelton, BC to Prince George, we said our goodbyes to our Adventure Caravan group after 61 days of doing life together!  We drove back through Jasper National Park to Hinton, 1 night & then to Calgary. Time to reset! We are staying at the Hyatt in Calgary for 4 nights. We stored our trailer for 4 nights. Haircuts, F & Oreo, nails, massages, etc. Taking care of business!

UNBELIEVABLE, Icing on the cake bucket list! Stewert, BC & Hyder, Ak. BEARS!

The salmon are running, as we know. We went to Hyder, Ak. to Fish Creek observation site, a viewing area to watch the salmon spawning, and wait and wait and wait and HOPE for a bear to come. The salmon began arriving approximately July 15.We were there for a couple of  hours 2 days in a row, and as we started to leave, a bear showed up! Check it out! I had been wanting to see this so much! The whole trip, I have been waiting for this place. The video and bear with the fish in his mouth, oh my gosh, is a crazy 50 minutes of pinch myself viewing! We were on a viewing platform, and there are rangers there with bear spray. They are monitoring everybody and the bear and making sure that we are away from areas that the bear may encroach on.

I never really loved Skagway all that much. I thought of it as a saloon town, like being in Knott‘s Berry Farm or something. But coming in on land, and staying for four days, has been absolutely changing my view. There have been at least 4-6 cruise ships every day we have been here. The town gets absolutely crazy with thousands of people, and then they all leave by about 5pm. We had some awesome crab, a show and shopping!  One of the days, we took a 4 hr. ferry ride to Juneau. No, it is not just any ferry ride. We saw whales along the way and two of them actually breached! We were in absolute shock, and I had chills. We were gone from the campground for over 12 hours. They hired a dog walker to come in and walk our dogs. That is always a little nerve-racking that Oreo will be OK. He g...
